Questions to Ask Yourself

Every sorority on campus has members of the highest quality, participates in philanthropic, sisterhood, social events, and upholds a certain standard of scholarship. But which one fits you the best? Sometimes this decision can be very hard to make. Here are a few questions to think about before making a final decision.

  • Why do you want to join a sorority?

  • What are the positives about each particular chapter? Negatives?

  • What group do you feel that you "fit in" with and feel the most comfortable around?

  • Are you ready to make a commitment to join this organization for life?

  • Do you have the financial resources to pay for chapter dues, activities and events, and other related expenses?

  • Will you have the time to participate in chapter leadership positions, chapter meetings, service events, intramurals, and other chapter events?

  • Has the chapter answered all of your questions and given you ample information?
